Art: An Expression of the Divine

Co-creation with the Universe

There is a place I spontaneously ascend to when I channel my creativity. A feeling of universality.

Let me tell you what has driven my desire to embark on this creative path. We all hold facets of this universe. When we contribute to the divine expression, we return to the ocean. Some wish to find compassion and connection to the land through mushrooms, others meditate, some like to create or transcend through sound.

Here’s a short exercise I’d like you to consider. Fill in the blank.

The feeling of oneness occurs when I…

…fall in love, serve my community, paint by the beach, trek into the woods with my friends, when I stop apologizing for existing and be life embodied. 

When are these moments when you feel fused with the world, cease to be a singular existence and unify with the divine flow? 

These are the moments I’ve found most inspiring. This is why my signature in poetry has been on sensuality, to embrace unity is to fall in love with aliveness. In nature this is most sought.

The Sublime Divine

Surrendering to our beautiful, mysterious existence is the prerequisite of embodying the artist archetype. Art is the seeking and exploration of self. Art is self-expression and collaboration with the divine. Our most ecstatic state is the act of creation, a powerful expression of enriching love.
