River
As artists, I know we desire to re-culture society. It is my intention to leave my flesh re-wildered.
Yes, I do believe we need a re-wilding. With my senses attuned to the lives surrounding, I observe life as I let it run through me till I pull it in and influence its tides in a new direction.
I can play God and I can play human. I can be everywhere. It’s not in my mind or my body, but in the shift of energy I’ve been stirring in me since I became.
I dedicate this life to live in discovering eyes. Let us re-discover ourselves each day.
I’m truly thrilled to share my new poetic series, Observation Deck. This will accompany my current series, Art Talks on my podcast available here on Substack or Spotify.
River
In this ocean I swim, its waters run through -
a ceremony, a union, a passing, an arrival…
Where can I travel to feel the Earth shift in
heartbreak or stir the cacao of surrendering love?
Where are the places that feel human?
The pain, the tension, the unknowable
open waters your heart will lead you to.
There’s a stream running through the body,
plenty of salmon and traveling leaves,
the scent of moss and eager claws.
You are the rivers unbound.
No idleness is there -
in the bend of the surf
that carries your pulse.
